Feeding America® Welcomes WoodmenLife as a Leadership Partner

Working Together, WoodmenLife Can Live Out Values, Shape the Future of Hunger Relief

WoodmenLife® is proud to announce that it’s now a Leadership Partner with Feeding America®, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization. This helps WoodmenLife expand efforts to battle food insecurity, something it’s been passionate about since the National Community Focus to fight hunger launched in 2015.

This alliance of like-minded organizations comes as hunger issues affect more than 11% of Americans, including 11 million children and more than 5 million seniors. On top of that, the COVID-19 pandemic’s economic impact has made things worse.

“Working with Feeding America strengthens our resolve and increases our ability to make a difference in the communities we serve,” said Patrick L. Dees, WoodmenLife President & CEO. “This offers us a unique opportunity to help shape the future of hunger relief in America and touch many more lives.”

To date, WoodmenLife and its chapters have collected more than 943,000 pounds of food and raised nearly $1.5 million for hunger relief. On top of that, members and others showed the same spirit of giving earlier this year for a campaign through WoodmenLife Impact®, the organization’s online fundraising platform, which supported the Feeding America COVID-19 Response Fund. That effort topped $1.06 million in three weeks, making a difference for some of the 40 million people served by the Feeding America network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs.

“Hunger is an issue that impacts every community, and we estimate that an additional 17.1 million people could face hunger as a result of the pandemic,” said Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, CEO of Feeding America. “We are thankful to WoodmenLife and its members for helping the Feeding America network provide more meals to people in need.”
