Cyndy Keys Chosen as Woodmen of the World Fraternalist of the Year

(OMAHA, NE) – Cyndy Keys of Spring, Texas, has been named Woodmen of the World’s Fraternalist of the Year. A member and Secretary of the Crockett, Texas, and Spring, Texas, lodges and interim Treasurer for the Crockett lodge, Keys has been a member of Woodmen of the World for five years and has fully embraced the fraternal spirit.

In addition to her lodge duties, Keys presents flags on behalf of the lodges, volunteers at Make A Difference Day and JOIN HANDS DAYactivities, sends flowers and condolences to members, sets up and cleans up before and after every meeting, and is the media manager for both lodges.

Outside of Woodmen of the World, Keys is active in the Lions Club, the Order of the Eastern Star (Mary Martha 981) and supports local FFAand 4-H activities. Cyndy and husband, Robert, are active in the Cowboy Ministry, where they help sponsor and conduct events like roping clinics, bull riding clinics and fundraisers for the needy. She also mentors and helps many people on an individual basis.

On being such an active fraternalist, Keys said, “You can’t look at it like time away from your family. We have to instill this spirit in our children,” she said. “Plus, if everyone did the little things, we wouldn’t have the big things. So much good can be done, and somebody’s got to do it. And I love it. My husband calls me a volunteer-aholic”.

Cyndy Keys’ name was submitted to the American Fraternal Alliance for their Fraternalist of the Year contest. The winner’s name from all the member fraternal benefit societies will be announced at their annual meeting this month.

“We’re proud that Cyndy Keys is representing Woodmen of the World at the Fraternal Alliance’s competition. Cyndy has a servant’s heart and has been the catalyst for a lot of good in her area. We know that Cyndy will be a life-long fraternalist,” said Mark Theisen, Executive Vice President, Fraternal.
