WoodmenLife Tower to Light for First Night of Hanukkah

Omaha, Nebr. — Tonight the WoodmenLife Tower will be blue and white for the first night of Hanukkah.

This Jewish festival commemorates the rededication of the Temple in 165 BC by the Maccabees after its desecration by the Syrians. It’s marked by the successive kindling of eight lights. According to Britannica.com, this time is used to reaffirm the ideals of Judaism and is also known as the Feast of Dedication and the Festival of Lights. Visit the Britannica website for Hanukkah to learn more.

WoodmenLife will share this on Facebook, Linked In and Twitter with the hashtags #Hanukkah and #LightWoodmenLifeTower.

To see a schedule of upcoming tower lightings or to request one, visit the WoodmenLife Tower Lighting Partnership website. You may download an image of the tower lit in white and blue using the link at right.
