OMAHA, Neb. (September 17, 2015) – Recently, the Eastern Nebraska Department of Aging received a donation from WoodmenLife® to purchase hot transporters for all six of their transport vans. WoodmenLife Vice President, Sales Spencer Owen presented the donation of $3,750 to Dennis Loose, Executive Director of Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging and Arlis Smidt, Meals on Wheels Division Director.

“As a corporate partner of the Meals on Wheels program, we are thrilled to be able to meet this need,” said Owen. “This is what WoodmenLife is about …seeing a need within our community, and working to fulfill it. Having warm meals can be more appetizing to the seniors who receive them, now the Meals on Wheels program will be able to transport the meals while keeping them hot.”

The donation is part of WoodmenLife’s National Community Focus: Fighting Hunger. WoodmenLife’s more than 900 chapters across the country have joined together as a positive force to fight hunger in their communities. WoodmenLife Home Office Associates donate hundreds of hours each year to the Meals on Wheels program, delivering meals to seniors throughout the metro area.
