Woodmenlife Builds Awareness of Disabilities in October

WoodmenLife celebrates disability inclusion by helping to build awareness during the month of October.  This focus is part of a broader focus on diversity at WoodmenLife over the next year.

Events scheduled throughout the month will provide Home Office associates the opportunity to learn about the challenges some of their peers face. For instance:

  • Each week the organization’s internal daily newsletter will feature an interview with an associate about how he or she works with a disability.
  • On Tuesday, Oct. 9th WoodmenLife has invited TJ McNew, a local business entrepreneur with Down syndrome, to keynote an associate Lunch & Learn.
  • On Monday, Oct. 22nd associates will get to interact with service dogs from Dillon’s Dog Training, a local area dog trainer.

“We are dedicated to understanding and celebrating what makes us different from one another during National Disability Employment Awareness Month,” said Patrick L. Dees, WoodmenLife President & CEO. “Our goal of celebrating disability inclusion is to teach our associates how to provide grace in the workplace and to strengthen our internal team.”

WoodmenLife is an organization that promotes a culture of inclusion and is dedicated to celebrating the diversity within its workforce. Associates are encouraged to take part in diversity-focused events offered throughout the year. For more about WoodmenLife’s culture, visit ThisIsWoodmenLife.com.
