WoodmenLife Adds to its National Board of Directors

(OMAHA, Neb.) – Dwayne H. Tucker was elected to the National Board of Directors of WoodmenLife, effective October 1, 2016.

Tucker brings a wealth of experience to his role on the Board, including nearly 30 years in the financial services and transportation industries. He is the Founder & CEO of Dwayne Tucker Consulting, LLC, in which he provided executive coaching and leadership consulting services. He has also served as Chief Human Resource Officer and President, Transaction Services for Alliance Data in Plano, TX, and was responsible for business units with combined revenue of more than $400 million. He has also lent his strategic, advocacy, leadership, and program design and development expertise to companies such as First Data and Northwest Airlines.

Tucker received his Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee State University in Nashville. He has also earned his certification in employment law from the Antioch School of Law in Washington, D.C.; certifications in multiple programs having to do with diversity and inclusion training; and completed the Finance and Accounting for the Non-Financial Manager program from Wharton School of Business, which is affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Tucker serves numerous non-profit organizations, including as Chairman of the Tennessee State University Foundation Board, leading an initiative to develop a new alumni giving model; and as Chairman of LEAD Public Schools, a network of five public charter schools, implementing Board-approved strategies for improving academic performance. He is also Founder & CEO of Educate Nashville, a non-profit established to create after-school tutorial programs for inner city students; and a former Board member of One Hundred Black men of Middle Tennessee and Nashville Public Radio. In addition, Tucker volunteers with Junior Achievement, facilitating after-school programs and co-instructing business classes.

Tucker is a member of WoodmenLife Chapter 1 in Nashville. His hobbies include golf and international travel. He and his wife, Carmen, have two children: Brandy and Dwayne.
