Woodmen Tower to Be Lit Red to Support “Go Red For Women®” Expo

Omaha, Neb. – The Woodmen Tower will be lit red starting at sunset tonight, Friday, September 26, through Tuesday, September 30, in support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women® Expo on Tuesday, September 30, at the Embassy Suites La Vista.

The Expo helps educate women on their greatest health threat – heart disease. Most women don’t realize that:

  • One out of three women dies from heart disease; this is about one woman per minute
  • Since 1984 more women than men have died of heart disease and stroke
  • 43 million American women are currently living with cardiovascular disease

Woodmen of the World, who has donated more than $10,000 to the American Heart Association in 2014, applauds their efforts to help women overcome the challenges they face in achieving and maintaining good heart health. “Woodmen of the World has been a supporter of Go Red For Women® for many years,” said Pam Hernandez, Executive Vice President of Operations. “This ties in with our dedication to support organizations that help bolster better health.”
