Del Campo High School Student Receives $25,000 Scholarship
Sarah Freese, a 2018 graduate of Del Campo High School in Fair Oaks, CA was recently awarded the prestigious $25,000 WoodmenLife Focus Forward Scholarship®. Freese, who is a WoodmenLife member, submitted an application highlighting her high school grades, activities and volunteerism, as well as an essay on patriotism.
Sarah, the daughter of James and Shelly Freese, is active not only in her high school, where she is involved in Student Government, Varsity Swim and Water Polo, but also in her community where she volunteers in her local elementary school as a play director. She is also a three-time winner of her local Rotary Club Speech Contest. She will be attending University of California: Los Angeles (UCLA) next year, where she plans to major in Political Science. Her family are members of WoodmenLife CA Chapter 339 in Sacramento.
“Receiving this scholarship is an absolute honor, and I can’t think of a better way to kick off my college experience,” said Freese. “This will make it so much easier on my family throughout my first year at UCLA, as this process is entirely new to us. I would like to thank WoodmenLife for helping me continue my education at my dream university.”

The WoodmenLife Focus Forward Scholarship Program is part of the organization’s member benefits. The program awards up to $1 million annually to members furthering their education in a two-year or four-year college, university or technical school. This year, WoodmenLife will award approximately 975 scholarships ranging from $500 to $25,000.
