Appomattox, VA, College Administrator Joins WoodmenLife’s National Board

Cathryn Mobley of Appomattox, VA, has been elected to the WoodmenLife National Board of Directors this month.

Mobley has been a dedicated WoodmenLife member for more than a decade and brings both a heart for helping others and a great depth of financial knowledge to this role. She is taking the spot left open when Ronald Aldridge of Jackson, MS, stepped down after seven years of service. She joins 12 others who’re tasked with overseeing the organization’s strategy, risks and finances.

Mobley is Associate Vice President for Administration and Finance, Director of Materiel Management, at Longwood University in Farmville, VA. She is a Licensed Certified Public Accountant and has extensive management experience at Longwood and at Central Virginia Community College in Lynchburg before that. But beyond her extensive professional credentials, she’s eager to help others share in the WoodmenLife experiences she’s found so rewarding.

Though she grew up knowing about WoodmenLife, she really got acquainted with the organization thanks to a colleague in Lynchburg, VA, who got her involved in an array of chapter activities. She said she’s often most moved by patriotic activities, like flag retirement ceremonies and First Responder events. Activities that help children in need also touch her heart, she said, and she’s energized when members come together to help others.

Mobley said she’s eager to dig into the details and see how they fit into a bigger picture. She wants to forge new connections, exchange ideas and serve members.

“Cathryn will be an excellent addition to our board. She brings positivity, a growth mindset and a servant’s heart to all her roles,” said President & CEO Patrick L. Dees. “We’re eager to tap into the perspectives she has on helping members and expanding WoodmenLife.”
