To honor the memory of those lost on 9/11, and those who serve in the military or as First Responders, WoodmenLife will host “100 Flags: A WoodmenLife 9/11 Tribute” before the kickoff of 100 high school football games across America around Friday, September 11. Each of these pre-game ceremonies will feature a 60-by-30-foot U.S. Flag and honor local heroes on the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States.

Since 2021, WoodmenLife’s Celebrating Red, White & Blue program has presented oversized U.S. Flags at high school football games and other events across the country. The Omaha, Neb.-based insurance company is one of the nation’s leading providers of U.S. Flags, presenting more than four million flags since 1947.

“High school football under the lights has a special way of bringing communities together. Regardless of how spirited the rivalry may be, before every kickoff, we stand together to honor America during the playing of our national anthem,” said Kyle McMahan, Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer, WoodmenLife. “On Friday, September 11, this tradition carries even greater meaning, as our nation remembers those lost on that fateful day and honors the men and women who continue to serve in our military and as First Responders.”
