WoodmenLife Tower to Light for National Homeless Persons Memorial Day
Omaha, Nebr. — Tonight the WoodmenLife Tower will be blue and yellow for National Homeless Persons Memorial Day.
According to the Metro Area Continuum of Care for the Homeless (MACCH), Dec. 21 — the first day of winter and the longest night of the year — is the national day of remembrance for individuals who have experienced homelessness and died this year. Memorial services were hosted at metro area emergency shelters, though attendance was limited due to the pandemic. This group is the Omaha metro area’s only collective impact homeless services organization and gives a collaborative voice in preventing and ending homelessness. To learn more about its mission, visit the MACCH Facebook page. You can also learn more at EndHomelessnessToday.org.
WoodmenLife will share this on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter with the hashtags #NationalHomelessPersonsMemorialDay, #HomelessnessAwareness and #LightWoodmenLifeTower.
To see a schedule of upcoming tower lightings or to request one, visit the WoodmenLife Tower Lighting Partnership website. You may download an image of the tower lit in blue and yellow using the link at right.
