WoodmenLife Appoints John Sharp as Senior Vice President & General Counsel
WoodmenLife, a leading provider of life insurance and retirement solutions, has promoted John Sharp to Senior Vice President & General Counsel, Secretary, effective July 2025.
Sharp, who joined WoodmenLife in 2021 as Vice President & Deputy General Counsel, will now lead the organization’s Legal and Compliance Division. In this expanded role, he will oversee legal strategy while guiding the organization through complex regulatory challenges.

Sharp’s legal career includes serving as General Counsel at Assurity Life Insurance Company before joining WoodmenLife. He holds both undergraduate and law degrees from Creighton University and maintains active memberships in key industry organizations, including the Association of Life Insurance Counsel and the American Fraternal Alliance. He is also a member of WoodmenLife Chapter 16 in Omaha, NE.
