Sullivan East Turns Patriotic Win into Student Success

BLUFF CITY, Tenn. – Sullivan East High School is turning creativity into community impact. After winning the 9-12 division Grand Prize in WoodmenLife’s ninth annual ‘America Is…’ Video Contest, the school is using its $2,500 award to strengthen its Student Incentive Program, a cornerstone initiative designed to celebrate and support students.

The Student Incentive Program recognizes learners who go above and beyond, whether through exemplary behavior, outstanding classroom effort, peer support, or perfect attendance. Beyond recognition, the program also provides essential personal care items and clothing to students in need, ensuring that every student feels valued and equipped for success.

“This program is about more than rewards, it’s about building a culture of encouragement and compassion,” said Andy Hare, Sullivan East Principal. “Winning the ‘America Is…’ contest gave us the opportunity to invest in our students in a meaningful way. Thank you WoodmenLife for supporting us in achieving this goal.”

The ‘America Is…’ Video Contest, hosted by WoodmenLife, invites students nationwide to create 30- to 60-second videos highlighting what America means to them. Sullivan East’s winning high school division entry stood out among 74 submissions and captured the spirit of patriotism and creativity that defines the contest.
