Stanton-Smith Elementary Turns Patriotism into Innovation With ‘America Is…’ Contest Prize
WHITEHOUSE, Texas – Stanton-Smith Elementary School is proving that creativity and patriotism can spark innovation. After earning Third Place in the K-8 division of WoodmenLife’s ninth annual ‘America Is…’ Video Contest, the school is putting its $1,000 prize to work in a way that will transform learning for its students.
The school plans to enhance its library by adding a 3D printer and additional materials, giving students hands-on tools to bring classroom lessons to life. These resources will allow students to incorporate technology into projects and reinforce what they’ve been learning in an interactive, engaging way.
“This is exactly what we love to see,” said Chris Beckendorff, WoodmenLife Community Outreach Advisor. “Stanton-Smith Elementary didn’t just participate in the contest, they’re using their winnings to create opportunities that inspire curiosity and creativity. We’re proud to support a school that’s investing in its students’ futures.”
The ‘America Is…’ Video Contest invites students nationwide to create short videos that celebrate patriotism and creativity. This year’s contest drew 74 entries and more than 9,000 votes, highlighting how young Americans define what America means to them. Stanton-Smith Elementary’s winning video stood out for its heartfelt tribute to American values and community pride.
