Cabot High School Turns Contest Win into Lasting Tribute to Local Heroes
CABOT, Ark. – Cabot High School students are turning a national contest win into a lasting tribute to local heroes after earning Second Place in the 9-12 division of WoodmenLife’s ninth annual ‘America Is…’ Video Contest and receiving a $1,500 prize for their creative entry highlighting patriotism and pride.
The school plans to use the winnings to create a Military Tribute Wall in the main lobby. This permanent display will honor alumni currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces and staff members who have served our country. The $1,500 prize will fully fund the project, covering all expenses for design and installation.
“Cabot High School’s decision to use their prize money for a Military Tribute Wall is a powerful example of how patriotism can inspire meaningful action,” said Melissa Godfrey, WoodmenLife Community Outreach Advisor. “This project will serve as a lasting reminder of the sacrifices made by members of the Cabot community and will instill pride in generations of students to come.”
The ‘America Is…’ Video Contest, hosted annually by WoodmenLife, encourages students nationwide to create short videos that celebrate what America means to them. This year’s contest drew 74 entries and more than 9,000 votes, highlighting the creativity and passion of young Americans.
