WoodmenLife Tower to Light for Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

Omaha, Nebr. — The WoodmenLife Tower will light red, white and blue tonight for Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

By lighting in our nation’s colors, we’re helping honor the 2,403 American service members and civilians who were killed in a Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on this day in 1941. According to the National Park Service website, Congress designated this remembrance day in 1994, and this year’s theme is Above and Beyond the Call. Events were held today at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center but they were closed to the public, in order to protect survivors and Veterans. A live stream was hosted on the National Park Service Facebook page.

WoodmenLife will share this on social media with the hashtags #PearlHarbor and #LightWoodmenLifeTower.

To see a schedule of upcoming tower lightings or to request one, visit the WoodmenLife Tower Lighting Partnership website. You may download an image of the tower lit in red, white and blue using the link at right.
