2011 Falcon Banding and Naming Contest – TODAY!
The falcon-naming contest will take place completely via Facebook this year, and it will officially begin mid-morning today! In order to participate, please 'like' the Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society page.
Once the falcon chicks have had their genders determined and announced, we'll post the information on our Facebook page, and again in tomorrow's 1700. Fans can post their group of five names on the Woodmen of the World Facebook wall through 12:00 p.m. CDT on Friday, June 10. Please remember, names will only be taken into consideration if they're submitted in groups of five!
Based on comments, likes and a general review from an internal WOW committee, the top five groups will be re-posted in the form of a Facebook "Question" on the WOW wall, where fans can then vote for their favorite. The top five will be posted and voting will begin on Monday, June 13 and last through 12:00 p.m. CDT on Friday, June 17. The winner will be announced on Monday, June 20 via Facebook, Twitter and the FalconWatch blog!
