WoodmenLife Tower to Light for World Diabetes Day
Omaha, Nebr. – The WoodmenLife Tower will light blue for World Diabetes Day.
November is National Diabetes Awareness Month, and today is World Diabetes Day. Since 2007, iconic buildings and sites around the world have lit for this day, which supports the mission of the JDRF. This organization works to improve lives today and tomorrow by accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications. In Nebraska alone, about 174,627 people (11.6% of the state’s population) have diabetes, and that comes with an immense human toll and financial cost to the health care system. Diabetes and prediabetes cost an estimated $1.5 billion in Nebraska each year. Please visit jdrf.org/nebraskaiowa to learn more.
WoodmenLife will share this on social media with the hashtags #WorldDiabetesDay, #WDD, #NDAM, #DiabetesAwarenessMonth, and #LightWoodmenLifeTower.
To see a schedule of upcoming tower lightings or to request one, visit the WoodmenLife Tower Lighting Partnership website. You can download a photo of the tower lit in blue at right.
