WoodmenLife Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with New Partnership

Join us for lunch on Wed., Sept. 26th, to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and support Omaha Public Schools’ South High Magnet School.

We’re bringing the Maria Bonita food truck to 1700 Farnam St. from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A portion of the ticket cost will pay for teachers’ meals on parent-teacher conference day in October.

This event is part of a broader focus on diversity at WoodmenLife over the next year and the start of a partnership with South High.

“Each month our diversity focus shifts, so we can celebrate our associates’ diverse backgrounds and open doors to understanding. It is central to creating stronger teams,” said Patrick L. Dees, WoodmenLife President & CEO. “This is also an excellent opportunity for us to give back to the community and connect with a school that is doing great things in Omaha.”

South High is one of the largest high schools in Nebraska. Teens will come to WoodmenLife Tower in October for Day of the Dead project presentations. There will also be opportunities over the coming months for students to learn about careers in technology and finance, participate in mock job interviews and have their résumés reviewed.

For more information about our month-long diversity spotlights, including National Disability Employment Awareness Month in October and Celebrating and Honoring Our Veterans in November, contact Kerry Heinrich at WoodmenLife.
