Woodmen of the World Recognized as Gold Level Well Workplace
Omaha, Neb. – Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society has been recognized as a Gold-Level Well Workplace by the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA) for quality and excellence in worksite health promotion.
“Our Wellness program is making a positive impact at Woodmen of the World. We are seeing increases in wellness participation, which is leading to improvements in our associates’ health,” said Peggy Dunston, Manager of Wellness and Recognition Programs.
The gold-level award recognizes organizations developing comprehensive programs producing results. Dunston says, Woodmen of the World, awarded a silver-level Well Workplace in 2008, is proud of the steps taken to become an organization that embraces the responsibility of maximizing the health and well-being of its employees. Each year associates have the opportunity to participate in a Personal Health Assessement that allows associates and Woodmen of the World to gauge the health status of the organization and the success of the wellness program.
In addition to these events Woodmen of the World continues to provide associates with wellness education, programs, and opportunities through the on-site wellness center to encourage associates to live healthier lives. As employee wellness has become part of the overall business strategy, Dunston notes that Woodmen of the World’s long term vision includes protecting and enhancing the health and well-being of each and every employee.
