Woodmen of the World Receives 2010 Governor’s Workplace Wellness Award
OMAHA, NEB. – Woodmen of the World was recently named one of 33 organizations across Nebraska to receive Gov. Dave Heineman’s ‘Governor’s Excellence in Wellness Awards’ honoring successful efforts in promoting workplace wellness
Woodmen of the World Wellness Coordinator Sarah Perrings said, “Wellness is a priority in most associates’ lives. They know the importance of being healthy and make it something they work on every day. More and more associates are getting involved and making better choices.”
Factors considered for the award included the level of support for the program by company leaders, assessment of employee needs, wellness plan design, outcomes and benefits, and policies supporting healthy behaviors. Perrings adds, “I think the support that associates have for each other is what makes wellness work at Woodmen of the World. Support is critical in maintaining healthy habits and being well.”
