Woodmen of the World Associates to Assist with Omaha Parks Department Sandbagging Project
Omaha, Neb. – Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society will partner with the Omaha Parks Department on Thursday, June 16 to fill sandbags in order to prepare for potential flooding in the Omaha area. Over 130 local Woodmen of the World employees and members, as well as members from approximately nine local Woodmen of the World lodges will gather between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at Levi Carter Lake Park to fill bags. Employees have volunteered for morning, afternoon or all-day shifts.
Woodmen of the World Director of Community Partnerships Jim Stolze said, “Woodmen of the World is deeply committed to our communities; our employees and members all across the country are assisting those who have been affected by natural disasters. Right now, we especially want to help those affected right here in the Omaha community.”
Woodmen of the World lodges and members around the country have been partnering with local community organizations to aide in disaster relief efforts after recent floods, storms and tornadoes. Woodmen of the World reminds members who sustain significant storm damage to their primary residence that they may qualify for a natural disaster benefit. Disaster assistance is one benefit of membership in Woodmen of the World that is intended to help members in time of need. Members should contact their local Woodmen of the World Representative.
