Who Am I

Do you recognize me? I look like a peregrine falcon but I’m not. We received this image from John in Bellevue, Nebraska. It looks a lot like a peregrine falcon, but its not. This bird doesn’t have the “hooded” face and head markings and the speckled breast is a different pattern and color.

The picture sent us searching the Internet for an answer. The best we could come up with is that the bird is a Sharp-Shinned Hawk. These Hawks love to prey on smaller birds and have been known to stake out bird feeders looking for  unsuspecting birds.

Please let us know if we got the identification wrong. We would love to know.
