Pomaria WoodmenLife Member Wins Fraternalist of the Year Award

Katie Coker of Pomaria, South Carolina, has been announced as this year’s National Fraternalist of the Year. A WoodmenLife member since birth, Katie is actively involved in planning and conducting events for Chapter 1054. She attended every chapter meeting and volunteered for every chapter project in 2023, assisting with setup, decoration and cleanup at events and programs such as Flag Day and Backpack programs, the chapter’s Christmas Project – which involved wrapping blankets for the local Pomaria nursing home at Christmas, gathering snacks to donate to local fire departments, and presenting flags to the Pomaria fire department.

Coker also served as VP of Youth Outreach for Chapter 1054, attended the Annual Regional Event, volunteered at the Chapter 1054 Family Night by preparing and bringing desserts, setting up and decorating the space, handing out programs, and greeting guests as they arrived.

“Through her outstanding volunteerism and dedication to helping others, Katie has made a difference in many lives and is more than deserving of this honor. She sets an example for other WoodmenLife members and is a shining light in her community,” said Robby Molony, Vice President, Fraternal at WoodmenLife.

The Fraternalist of the Year Award honors a member who has gone above and beyond to serve their community. Their volunteerism positively impacts the lives of many individuals and sets a standard for WoodmenLife members to live out their mission of helping others.
