Hundreds of Bags To Be Stuffed For Food Bank For The Heartland
WoodmenLife associates will be stuffing hundreds of grocery bags over their lunch hour today for the Food Bank for the Heartland’s Pack the Pantry event.
“Instead of going out to lunch, we’re going help hungry people in our area by packing bags that will be distributed through the Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry Program,” said Mary Craig, President of WoodmenLife’s Alpha Chapter 16, which organized the event.
WoodmenLife associates will be filling the bags in the 20th floor conference room of the WoodmenLife Tower on Thursday, Sept. 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“The food bags WoodmenLife associates are packing will help feed thousands of children, families, seniors, and veterans across the Heartland through our Mobile Pantry Program,” said Angie Grote, Communications Manager at the Food Bank for the Heartland.
WoodmenLife’s National Community Focus is fighting hunger, and the month of September is Hunger Action Month. To bring more awareness to the hunger problem in our area, and to honor WoodmenLife associates who made a difference today, the WoodmenLife Tower will be lit orange tonight.
