Food Bank for the Heartland to Receive $19,000 Donation
WoodmenLife Executive Vice President Operations and Secretary Denise McCauley will present a $19,000 check to the Food Bank for the Heartland on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 8:30 a.m.
The donation continues the long-standing partnership WoodmenLife and the Food Bank for the Heartland have forged, and will be made at a quarterly All Associate Meeting, in front of hundreds of WoodmenLife employees.
WoodmenLife was a corporate sponsor of the Food Bank’s annual Strike Out Hunger campaign. The $19,000 donation represents WoodmenLife associates’ efforts to raise money to fight hunger during months when donations often lag.
“Hunger doesn’t take a vacation. We are proud of our associates’ efforts to fight hunger this summer,” McCauley said. McCauley is also a member of the Food Bank’s Board of Directors.
With the donation, WoodmenLife won the East Division of the competition.
“Fighting hunger is our organization’s focus on a national level, so we want to be a leader in the Omaha community in this effort,” McCauley said.
WoodmenLife will be sponsoring the Food Bank’s Eat Lunch, Fight Hunger food truck campaign this fall.
