Boston Terrier Rescue Recipient of Facebook Contest Winnings
Nebraska Boston Terrier Rescue will receive the winnings from WoodmenLife’s Families Volunteering Photo Contest on Facebook.
Sixteen families from all over the country entered, and more than 2,500 votes were tabulated. But one family stood out with more than 50 percent of the votes: Sheryl Pedersen of Council Bluffs entered a photo about her and her husband fostering dogs through Nebraska Boston Terrier Rescue. Her photo received 1,464 votes, and as the winner, she designated the $500 winnings to the rescue group.
Part of what ties WoodmenLife members together is a common commitment to giving back to our communities. WoodmenLife sponsored the photo contest about families volunteering together on Facebook to recognize families who make a difference in their local communities. The public voted on the final winner.
“Giving back to the communities where we live is core to our business. And when families volunteer together, we believe it not only makes our communities better places, it strengthens that family, too,” said President & CEO Patrick Dees.
WoodmenLife’s Customer Benefits package was recently revamped and includes nearly $1 million in scholarships available every year, a natural disaster benefit, a first responders benefit, and discounts relevant to busy families. WoodmenLife also provides families ways to give back to their communities through our chapter system. Our chapters donated $4.2 million to their communities in 2016.
