10 fun-filled days
It’s been ten fun-filled days since the first chick hatched in the Woodmen Tower falcon nest. Since then, we’ve seen them eat plenty of hearty meals (consisting of small birds mostly) and watched them huddle in for much needed naps after their bellies are full! Hera, good mama that she is, has done most of the tending to the chicks, but Zeus has taken his turn as well.
We are looking forward to Banding Day on June 6, when the chicks will have more than tripled in size since their first days. Soon thereafter, they will lose their downy feathers and take on the features of an adult peregrine falcon.
