WoodmenLife Tower to Light in 3 Colors for Metastatic Breast Cancer Day

Omaha, Nebr. – Tonight the WoodmenLife Tower will be green, pink and teal to support National Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day.

According to the Metastatic Breast Cancer Network, MBC can be referred to as Stage IV cancer and occurs when cancer has spread outside of the breast to other organs such as bones, liver, lung or brain. The network also says researchers at this time can’t explain why metastatic disease occurs, but they’re working on finding answers. Studies estimate that there are over 155,000 women and men living with metastatic breast cancer in the US.

After a unanimous Congressional resolution, this day was set aside in 2009 to bring awareness to this condition.
